The tool drafts an outline and writes every chapter sequentially, persisting progress after each so partial work always survives.
Track the job
The response returns bookId, jobStatus (chapters_complete or partial), and chaptersCompleted / chaptersTotal. Poll with get_book any time.
Export KDP-ready files
Open the returned studio URL to auto-design the cover and export a print-ready PDF, EPUB, or DOCX with correct trim and bleed.

What does generate_book return?
A JSON payload with bookId, title, genre, jobStatus, chaptersCompleted, chaptersTotal, and links to the studio (to finalize the cover and export a KDP-ready PDF/EPUB/DOCX) and your library.
How many chapters can it draft in one call?
3 to 8 per call so the job finishes inside a single worker request. For longer books, reopen the book in the studio and continue chapter-by-chapter.
What if a chapter fails midway?
The tool saves progress after every chapter and stops on the first error. Reopen the book in the studio to retry the remaining chapters — nothing is lost.
Does it count against my plan?
Yes. Free accounts can generate one book lifetime; paid plans use their normal book credits. Upgrading unlocks unlimited MCP generations.
