What authors are saying

I published my first cozy mystery in a single weekend with KDP AI Book Maker. The chapter outliner kept the plot tight, the AI draft saved me about 40 hours of typing, and the KDP-ready PDF passed Amazon's review on the first upload. Three months later the series is doing $1,800 a month in royalties.

A note from the person who built this →

I built this because I was sick of paying $300/month for tools that didn't talk to each other.

In 2023 I was running a small KDP catalog — three pen names, eleven titles between them. My monthly stack was Sudowrite, Midjourney, Vellum, Book Bolt, Atticus, a cover designer on Fiverr, and a small army of Google Docs I couldn't keep straight. Every book took about 26 hours of pure mechanical work — formatting, cover wraps, trim sizing, EPUB linting — before any of the actual writing happened.

The tools were good. The seams between them were the problem. Every export was a fresh chance to break a cover spine, blow a bleed, or paste a chapter twice.

So I built the thing I wished existed. One app, one prompt, one print-ready PDF that uploads to KDP without a single rejection. That's it. No plugins, no "AI marketplace," no separate billing for the cover module.

If it doesn't save you at least 20 hours on your first book, email me and I'll refund you personally. — Erik

I've tried Sudowrite, NovelCrafter, and raw ChatGPT. KDP AI Book Maker is the only tool that actually exports a print-ready interior with correct gutters, mirrored margins, and a clean title page. The cover generator is solid too — only nitpick is I wish there were a few more cover style presets for sci-fi.

Finally a tool that respects how romance readers actually buy. The series mode kept my characters consistent across four 50k-word novels, and the back-matter editor lets me promote the next book in the series at the end of every title. Read-through on book one to book two jumped from 38% to 67%.

I run a low-content KDP catalog of 120 journals and puzzle books. KDP AI Book Maker cut my production time per book from 6 hours to about 35 minutes. The puzzle generator outputs unique grids every time, and the interior PDF always passes Amazon's print review. My November profit was the highest I've ever had.

I'm a children's book illustrator who couldn't write to save my life. The kids-lit studio gave me a 24-page story with age-appropriate vocabulary, then I dropped in my own illustrations. The KDP picture-book export handled the 8.5×8.5 trim and bleed perfectly. My daughter's preschool class loved it.

The AI editing workflow is the real differentiator. Four passes — structural, line, copy, proof — and the prose actually reads like a human wrote it. My one-star 'this is obviously AI' reviews went to zero on the books I ran through the full workflow. That alone made the price negligible.

Coloring book studio is a huge time-saver. I batch-generated 50 mandala pages in an afternoon and the line weights actually print cleanly at 8.5×11. Took me one round of feedback to learn to prompt for thicker outlines — once I did, the results were great. Would love a bulk re-export option in a future update.

Used the puzzle studio to build a 100-page word search book for the senior-living market. The large-print presets are perfect, and the answer keys are auto-generated and correctly paginated. One small gripe: the crossword clue editor could be a bit faster on long lists, but that's it.

I write non-fiction in the personal-finance niche. The structural editing pass caught three weak chapter transitions my human editor missed, and the citation formatting saved me hours. I docked a star only because the AI sometimes over-summarizes — it needs a nudge to keep my voice. Still worth every penny.

Bought the Pro plan for the picture-book studio and it paid for itself in two weeks. The illustration style stays consistent across all 32 pages, which was the dealbreaker with every other tool I tried. My 6-year-old asked who 'painted' her book — that's the bar.

I was skeptical that AI could write a bedtime story my twins would actually sit through, but the kids-lit studio nailed the rhythm and repetition picture books need. Twelve titles published in three months, and two of them are sitting in the top 50 in their Amazon sub-category.

Switched from Canva + manual InDesign work to the kids-lit studio and my per-book production time went from two weeks to two days. The character-consistency model keeps my main bear looking like the same bear on every spread, which used to be the single biggest headache.

Crossword studio is genuinely impressive. The clue generator gives me a clean spread of easy-medium-hard difficulties, and the auto-numbering has never been off once across the 40 puzzle books I've shipped. Answer keys regenerate in seconds when I tweak a grid.

Sudoku and maze generators are my bread and butter — five titles a month, all profitable. The large-print presets and the activity-book mixed-puzzle template saved me from building my own KDP templates from scratch. Only ask: please add Kakuro and Killer Sudoku presets next.

I publish themed coloring books for adults — botanical, art-deco, geometric — and the style coherence across 60+ pages is what sets this apart from anything else I've used. Lines export clean at 300 DPI and the previewer caught two bleed issues before I uploaded to KDP.

Kids' coloring books are a tough niche because the art has to be friendly but also genuinely fun to color. The kids-coloring preset hits that balance, and the batch generator means I can ship a 40-page title in one focused work session. Royalties up 3x quarter-over-quarter.

I run a mindfulness coloring catalogue and the bulk page generator with style-locking is exactly what I needed. Ten new titles last quarter — every single one passed Amazon's print preview on the first try. Knocking off half a star only because I'd love an in-app color-test mockup.

Used the long-form non-fiction studio to write my second self-help title. The citation manager and chapter-summary export made the final formatting trivial, and the KDP cover generator gave me three usable directions I'd never have prompted myself. Highly recommended for serious indies.
